Water and Stone Tapestry

This tapestry is based on looking at water running beside a stone wall, the lights and reflections off the surface contrasting with the depths. It relates to one of my greatest inspirations which are the Monet paintings in La Orangerie in Paris.

Medium

New Zealand wool and silk. It is hand knotted tapestry with the Aubusson style executed by Hines of Oxford. The tapestry has a hidden hanging system and is about 2 million knots.
